Let the customer pay the way they're comfortable paying
Egypt does not pay one way. Some customers pay by card, some by mobile wallet, and plenty still prefer to hand cash to the courier at the door. Hekana gives you all of them on the same checkout page, and collection goes to the Paymob account registered in your name — Hekana never holds your money and takes no commission on sales.
The payment methods you get
Bank cards
An embedded payment form inside your own checkout, in your store's colours, so the customer is never bounced to a page that looks like someone else's. If the form fails to load for any reason it falls back automatically to Paymob's hosted page rather than dead-ending. Which card types are accepted is set by your Paymob agreement.
Mobile wallets
Vodafone Cash, Orange Cash, Etisalat Cash and WE Pay. The customer is taken to the wallet confirmation and returns to the store afterwards. If the wallet declines, the actual reason is shown instead of a generic error.
Fawry, InstaPay and bank transfer
Fawry issues the customer a reference code and an expiry to pay at any outlet. InstaPay and bank transfer show them the transfer details and a screen to upload the receipt, and you confirm receipt yourself from the dashboard.
Cash on delivery
On by default, and the order is recorded immediately without waiting on any gateway. You can set a minimum and maximum order value for which you'll accept cash on delivery.
How it works
Connect your own Paymob account
In Settings → Payments, enter your Paymob keys. They are stored encrypted, and Hekana does not put its own account in front of your store's sales.
Turn on the methods you want
Cards, wallets, Fawry, InstaPay, bank transfer, cash on delivery — each has its own switch, and checkout only offers what you enabled.
The customer pays
Checkout is in Arabic, amounts are in Egyptian pounds, and every method spells out the next step for the customer.
The order updates itself
Paymob sends the payment confirmation to Hekana and the order flips to paid exactly once, even if the confirmation arrives more than once. If the confirmation is delayed, Hekana asks Paymob for the transaction's status before expiring the session.
Who this is for
- Stores selling to customers who aren't comfortable paying online yet — cash on delivery is there from day one.
- Stores trying to cut returns by getting some customers to pay up front.
- Stores selling higher-value items that need the card form to work inside the store, not on an unfamiliar page.
- Merchants who already have a Paymob account and want to keep using it as-is.
Common questions
Does Hekana take a commission on sales?
No. The subscription only. The gateway's own fees are between you and Paymob under your agreement with them.
When does the money reach me?
Collection and settlement happen through the Paymob account in your name, so payout timing is whatever Paymob agreed with you. Hekana is not an intermediary and never holds the funds.
Do I need a Paymob account to start?
Not to start. You can open the store and sell with cash on delivery or bank transfer without any gateway. Paymob is what you need for cards, wallets and Fawry.
What if the customer closes the page mid-payment?
The order stays unpaid and the stock is released when the session expires. And if the payment did in fact go through but its confirmation was delayed, Hekana checks the status with Paymob before cancelling anything.
