Shipping attached to the order, not in a spreadsheet next to it
Shipping is where a merchant's day disappears: copying the address, re-entering the shipment on the carrier's site, then pasting the tracking number back to the customer by hand. In Hekana the shipment is created from the order page itself, its status comes back onto that same order, and the customer is told automatically.
What it actually does
Shipping rates by governorate
Set one flat rate for the whole country, or a rate per governorate, and the cost is calculated for the customer at checkout as soon as they enter their address. There's a free-shipping threshold you set yourself — anything above it ships free. And if you connect a carrier account and switch on live rates, the price comes from the carrier itself at checkout.
Shipment tracking
Every shipment has a tracking number tied to the order. Bosta and R2S push status updates to Hekana on their own; the other carriers update with a "refresh status" click on the order page.
Airway bills and pickups
Download a print-ready PDF airway bill, and book a pickup from your address instead of going to a branch. Pickup addresses are saved and you pick one as your default.
Ship it yourself
If you deliver with your own courier, or through a carrier that isn't connected, you record the shipment manually and move its status yourself. The order and the customer are updated in exactly the same way.
How it works
Choose how shipping is priced
In Settings → Shipping: a flat rate, rates per governorate, or live rates from the carrier.
Connect a carrier (optional)
Bosta needs a single API key. The others need a few more account details. You can run without connecting any carrier at all.
Ship the order
From the order page: create the shipment or record a manual one, download the airway bill, and book a pickup if you need one.
Follow it to the door
The shipment's status shows on the order, and the customer gets the shipping notice with the tracking number and then the delivery confirmation.
Who this is for
- Stores shipping nationwide where each governorate costs something different.
- Stores already on Bosta who want orders to become shipments without copy-paste.
- Stores that deliver inside Cairo and Giza with their own courier and use a carrier for everywhere else.
- Anyone losing half a day to "where is my order?" messages.
Common questions
Is Bosta the only carrier?
No. Bosta, Aramex, DHL, FedEx and R2S are supported, and you can also ship yourself. Bosta is the most complete: creating and cancelling shipments, tracking, rates, airway bills and pickup booking, and it pushes status updates on its own. Aramex and DHL do not support cancelling a shipment through their API.
Is the shipping cost calculated automatically?
Yes, at checkout, from the rules you set — a flat rate or a rate per governorate. And if you switch on live rates and connect a carrier account, the price comes from the carrier itself at the moment of checkout.
Is there a fee on cash on delivery?
A 2% collection fee on the order value is added to cash-on-delivery orders, and the customer sees it in the order summary before confirming.
Can I start without a carrier account?
Yes. Start with a flat rate and manual shipping, and connect a carrier when your order volume makes it worth it.
